Symantec Security Threatcon Status for 2010-09-19

On September 14, 2010, Microsoft issued nine security bulletins affecting a number of products including Microsoft Office, Windows, Outlook, and IIS. Several of the vulnerabilities fixed in the associated updates are rated 'Critical' by Microsoft. Successful exploitation of many of these flaws can result in remote-code execution; in some cases, this could yield SYSTEM-level privileges.

Administrators of affected systems are advised to apply these updates as soon as possible to prevent exposure to these vulnerabilities.
